Hopeful Dallas Stars begin their title quest tonight

The wait is over, Stars hockey is back! Dallas kicks off the 2025–26 season with a road showdown against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday, October 9, before bringing the energy home for a highly anticipated opener against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, October 14.

The Stars head into this season riding high after a 50–26–6 campaign last year in which they finished second in the Central Division and made a deep run to the Western Conference Final.

With a new voice behind the bench, rookie head coach Glen Gulutzan, Dallas is eager to break through the postseason ceiling that’s haunted them in recent years.

The roster features some serious firepower. Most notably, the blockbuster trade for Mikko Rantanen, who was acquired from Carolina and immediately inked to a long-term deal, adds a dynamic scoring threat to an already dangerous forward group.

On defense, all eyes will be on their transition game and puck movement, with key contributors expected to play a critical role in both ends of the ice.

Overall, hopefully this is the year the Stars can put it all together.

When the Cowboys missed out on re-signing Rico Dowdle, they turned to Javonte Williams, and it might end up being one of the best bargain moves of the NFL offseason.

Through five games, Williams has powered Dallas’ offense with a bruising style that’s made him one of the league’s most productive backs. And just in time for Sunday’s showdown, he’s earned a new title in the Cowboys’ backfield.

That’s wild
