Roster cuts loom, Parsons drama continues, Dallas faces a defining week
Oh boy, where to start. The good news? The next time the Dallas Cowboys take the field, the wins and losses finally count. For everyone who bleeds silver and blue, let’s hope there are more wins than losses. But that’s a tall order if Micah Parsons isn’t out there on September 4 when the Cowboys open the season in primetime against the Eagles.
Dallas wrapped up its 2025 preseason Friday night with a 31–13 win over the Falcons. Several players delivered big performances, some solidifying roster spots, others showcasing themselves for the rest of the league to notice.
The next afternoon, head coach Brian Schottenheimer joined reporters on a conference call to discuss injuries, roster decisions, and yes, Parsons. With final cuts looming, he admitted the process has only grown more difficult, a reminder that the toughest days of August are still ahead. He also touched on the health of key starters and the outlook for Philadelphia. And in the middle of it all came a rare bit of relief: Dallas received good news on the status of one of its star players, a sign the team is hoping this key piece will be available in Week 1.
But Parsons stole the spotlight yet again. Cameras caught him stretched out on the trainer’s table during the game, and the sight immediately set off alarms. Schottenheimer refused to give answers, saying he’d wait to talk to Parsons directly before commenting. Between that mystery and his contract standoff, the future of the Cowboys’ biggest star feels cloudier than ever, and the clock to Week 1 is ticking fast.
So now the countdown is on. Roster cuts are around the corner, injuries remain in play, and the opener against the Eagles looms large. These next few days won’t just finalize a depth chart, they’ll set the tone for the Cowboys’ entire season. And one thing’s for certain: Dallas won’t stay quiet for long.

The Rangers’ season hasn’t gone the way anyone expected… until now. Something shifted over the past three games, and fans suddenly have a reason to believe again (maybe just a bit). What happened over the weekend not only turned heads on the field, but also shook up the playoff picture in a way. Let’s just say, the Wild Card race looks a bit different this morning. Our DLLS Rangers crew had it covered this past weekend.

Speaking of the Rangers, in case you didn't see it, the team unveiled their Adrian Beltré statue just before the weekend. The former third baseman played for the Rangers from 2011 to 2018, where he won three Gold Glove awards, a pair of Silver Slugger awards, was a three-time All-Star, and had his number 29 retired back in 2019.
