Cowboys fall in Philly… but prove they’re no pushovers

The Dallas Cowboys opened their 2025 season with a 24-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in a Thursday night matchup that had everything, spitting, a weather delay, and costly missed opportunities from one of their star receivers.
While Dallas didn’t leave Philly with a win, they did show more fight than many expected. A few critical drops may have been the difference in what was otherwise a tightly contested game.
Quarterback Dak Prescott, played his first meaningful snaps in 10 months following a hamstring injury, wasted no time proving his mobility and comfort.
The Cowboys offense came out strong showing signs of rhythm. Running back Javonte Williams punched in two short-yardage touchdowns, giving Dallas much-needed red-zone production.
The defense faired well in the second half but just wasn’t enough to get it done.
DLLS Cowboys Postgame coverage
On the DLLS Cowboys postgame show, Jeff broke down his five favorite moments from the night.
Clarence Hill checked in live from Lincoln Financial Field, and the crew debated the play of Tyler Guyton, the linebackers, and the pass rush.
There was no shortage of drama, whether it was Jalen Carter spitting on Prescott, a wild run and fumble from Miles Sanders, or how George Pickens factored into the offense, but in the end, the Eagles did just enough to escape with the win.

The Dallas Wings locked up the best odds for the No. 1 pick, but the spotlight was still burning bright on Paige Bueckers in the Rookie of the Year race.
In our weekly DLLS Wings pod, I finally unleashed my long-awaited ROTY debate and didn’t hold back. We fired off our boldest, spiciest Wings takes yet, and trust me, you want to hear them.
Plus, we broke down what “Not This Year” really meant for Dallas’ future and why it might not have been as bleak as it sounded.

Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki joined the DLLS Mavs show to share his thoughts on Cooper Flagg, Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, expectations for the Mavs season, and his upcoming tennis classic benefiting his foundation.
Our crew also debated who would lead the Mavericks in key statistical categories this season, and much more!

The Texas Rangers put together one of their best road trips of the season, proving they could win away from home when it mattered most. But after dropping the last two games to the Diamondbacks, the Rangers had to shake it off and refocus on the playoff chase.
The question was whether they could keep the momentum rolling and finish the stretch run strong. DLLS Rangers pod has you covered.

On yesterday’s summer series “The Other 31,” we headed to the Pacific Northwest to spotlight the Vancouver Canucks, joined by special guests Thomas Drance, senior writer for The Athletic, and Patrick Johnston, sports columnist for The Province and the Vancouver Sun.
The Canucks had made the playoffs just once in the last five seasons, leaving the big question: could they do enough to keep star defenseman Quinn Hughes happy, or would their captain eventually look for greener pastures elsewhere?

I wonder whose idea this was?
Absolutely hilarious (and predictable) how the DFW area is getting the Packers/Lions game on Sunday while basically the rest of Texas gets the Texans/Rams game.
