👋 Good morning! - Here is today’ fun fact. Shaquille O’Neal missed more free throws (5,317) than Steve Nash attempted in his entire career (3,384). Think about that, one of the most dominant big men in NBA history clanged so many shots at the line that he basically had an entire Hall of Famer’s career worth of misses. - Ali Jawad

Back where it fell apart, Matt Eberflus returns to Bears turf

The last time the Dallas Cowboys saw the Chicago Bears, Matt Eberflus was standing on the opposite sideline as Chicago’s head coach.

Two and a half years, 14 wins, and a Thanksgiving firing later, he’s back at Soldier Field, this time wearing Dallas gear and calling the shots on defense.

Eberflus insists his return won’t change the Cowboys’ preparation, but he admits the lessons from his short Chicago tenure run deep.

  • “When you have adversity, that’s when you learn,” he said, reflecting on the grind of his first head-coaching job and the December off he spent reconnecting with family after three decades in football.

Now tasked with fixing a Dallas defense that just gave up over 500 yards, Eberflus says the mission is clear: cut down explosive plays and tighten communication before Caleb Williams and a hungry Bears team test them Sunday.

Chicago might bring back not so many great memories, but for Eberflus, this matchup is about redemption, and proving he can lead one of the defense back on track.

Dennis Smith Jr. is back in Dallas 👀

DSJ agreed to a 1-year deal with the Mavericks, and the DLLS Mavs crew broke down whether this reunion could actually work. Could the former Mavs lottery pick carve out a real role on this loaded roster?

Jamie Benn was never supposed to skip the minors… but he did 😳

Back in 2009, Glen Gulutzan thought he’d coach Benn in the AHL. Instead, Benn forced his way straight into the NHL and never looked back. Now, 17 years later, Gulutzan is back in Dallas, tasked with squeezing one more run out of the Stars’ captain.

Just watch.
