👋 Good morning! - Only six weeks into the season, the Cowboys are already staring down the need for serious change, and it’s a shame. Dak Prescott and George Pickens are balling out, but their efforts are being wasted by a defense that can’t get out of its own way. At this point, even the Avengers couldn’t save this team. - Ali Jawad

Enough is enough changes need to be made for the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys’ defense hit a new low on Sunday, coughing up 30 points to the Carolina Panthers in a gut-punch 30-27 loss that dropped Dallas to 2-3-1.

Former Cowboy Rico Dowdle ran wild for over 200 total yards, and once again, Dallas folded late, giving up the game-winning field goal as time expired. It wasn’t just a bad day; it felt like a breaking point.

Six games into the season, the unit that once prided itself on swagger and playmaking looks lost, confused, and soft up the middle.

Missed assignments, poor communication, and a lack of adjustments have become weekly staples. Matt Eberflus’ scheme is under the microscope, and after Sunday, the calls for change inside and outside the building are growing louder.

  • "This is not an issue of personnel, it's an issue of execution and we have to coach it better, we have to detail it better and then the players have to go out there and play." - Brian Schottenheimer

From top to bottom, it’s a systemic failure, and the scariest part is that the toughest stretch of the schedule hasn’t even started. Schottenheimer, however, made it clear the team isn’t planning any immediate shakeups.

So if thats the case, when is it time to pull the plug? When is enough going to be enough for all this?

Cooper Flagg’s first real test as the Mavericks’ point guard was a mixed bag, but an exciting one.

The No. 1 pick flashed defensive instincts and fearlessness with the ball, racking up 11 points, 7 boards, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 20 minutes despite a cold shooting night.

His pairing with Ryan Nembhard, who dished 12 assists including a Magic-style dime for a Flagg dunk, offered a glimpse of a creative backcourt future in Dallas.
