👋 Good morning! - I don’t know what’s going on in the NBA right now, but every night somebody’s dropping 50 like it’s a pickup game. These dudes must be sipping that Space Jam Secret Stuff, because the way the buckets are flying, defense clearly didn’t make the trip. - Ali Jawad

Dallas rallies late but can’t finish the job against Thunder

The Mavericks again came up short at home, falling to the Thunder after battling back late.

After a sluggish start, Oklahoma City managed to open a gap in the second half, and despite a spirited Dallas rally, OKC held on.

The Mavericks’ offense struggled to string sustained runs together, and their defensive lapses allowed the Thunder to stay just out of reach.

Dallas did show some signs of life down the stretch, managing to cut a double-digit deficit to within striking distance thanks to increased urgency and better execution on both ends.

Nevertheless, Oklahoma City steadied themselves, converting key baskets and winning the push-and-pit area that swung the late minutes their way.

Even in defeat, the Mavericks found energy in the fourth quarter, and the team avoided some previously recurring mistakes. That said, the larger issues remain, consistency, offensive flow and late-game poise, and if Dallas wants to avoid more home setbacks, those must improve this week.

Also hopefully Cooper Flagg is ok.

Bo Nix and Sean Payton turned Mile High into heartbreak for the Dallas Cowboys, torching their defense in a lopsided loss that erased last week’s optimism.

After bullying the injury-riddled Commanders, Dallas looked lost against a contender — and now serious questions surround Matt Eberflus’s unit.
