👋 Hello, friends.
I think I'm getting officially old because the latest TikTok trend has me a little befuddled. I find the wishing a teammate goodnight thing a little cringe, to be honest.
But hey! It did result in this pretty wholesome moment from Micah Parsons and Brian Schottenheimer.
Micah’s just checkin’ in with Schotty 😂

Funny enough, Parsons said he attempted to call owner Jerry Jones, too, but to no avail.
Don't worry: the two talked on Tuesday at mandatory minicamp. — Joseph Hoyt

No Deal, No Problem?

Players across the league seeking new deals didn't show up to their respective mandatory minicamps on Tuesday. Parsons, however, did. There was even some indication prior to practice that he might do some on-field work, according to Schottenheimer, but ultimately Parsons didn't practice.
This is what we call a hold in, folks, rather than a hold out.
Perhaps the most notable thing Parsons did yesterday was talk with Jerry Jones for nearly 30 minutes during practice.
Parsons said there wasn't any contract extension discussion. As our Clarence Hill wrote in his exclusive conversation with Parsons, between Jones and Parsons there's nothing left to discuss.
Parsons says he knows it will get done. And he exclusively told DLLS Cowboys he takes comfort in knowing that whenever he signs he will be the highest paid defensive and most likely non quarterback in NFL history, surpassing defensive end Myles Garrett and wide receiver Jamar Chase, respectively...
Parsons confirmed to the DLLS Cowboys that he and Jones had a meeting of the minds on contract numbers that both were comfortable with. He told Jones what he wanted and Jones was amenable to it. He also told Jones to call his agent David Mulugheta to finalize the terms and the language.
Jones has yet to make the call.
It all seems so simple. And yet it remains undone.
One thing we do know: Parsons likely won't take the field until he gets a new deal. He said he already has his house for training camp and Oxnard purchased and ready to go.
So, until a new deal is finalized, a hold in continues.
Go deeper: We discussed on the show yesterday how the Cowboys' negotiation playbook is out in the open.
