The Cowboys are staring at their biggest crisis in years, and it has nothing to do with Dak Prescott or a White House. It’s none other than Micah Parsons or is it Michael? Anyway, two weeks before the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, the face of the Cowboys’ defense hasn’t practiced once, has already dropped a trade request, and after his recent action on Twitter last night, may never wear the star again (hopefully that last part isn’t true).

Jerry Jones swears he’s done everything to keep Parsons in Dallas. He says he offered him the largest guaranteed deal ever given to a non-quarterback in NFL history, nearly $200 million guaranteed, more than $40 million per year. Jerry thought the deal was done back in March. He believed he and Parsons had an agreement.

Then came the twist.

According to Jones, the Cowboys had already struck a deal with Parsons back in March. But then came the twist, and it all went up in smoke the moment Parsons’ agent David Mulugheta got involved. What was said behind closed doors has Jerry fuming.

Parsons, though, didn’t stay quiet. He went public with his side of the story, painting a completely different picture of those negotiations and pointing the finger right back at the Cowboys when he first requested a trade.

Now, with the season opener against the Eagles just days away, the Cowboys find themselves trapped in the middle of a standoff that could cost Parsons millions and derail Dallas before the first snap is even taken.

Jerry says the money is on the table. Parsons says the team won’t even pick up the phone.
