Let’s Make A Difference Today!

Today is Big Brothers Big Sisters Day! We’ve been raising money all week for our Big and Little friends, but today is the day to SMASH RIGHT THROUGH our Spirit Week goal of $10K. Donate during your favorite DLLS show on YouTube or contribute directly at bbbs.org/allcity!
👋 Hello, friends.
Today, we not only honor Juneteenth, but we’re also continuing our fundraiser for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. I want to echo the ad note above.
It’s a great organization that supports local children by providing them with mentors and fun experiences. Our chat box will be open for donations today and tomorrow. Be sure to check them out, especially if you’re interested in becoming a big for a child in need. I recently signed up and I’m hoping to get matched soon. — Joseph Hoyt

Pressure On?

This part of the sports calendar is … interesting. The trade deadline in baseball is still a ways away (unless you’re the Red Sox). Golf provides some excitement, as J.J. Spaun showed this past weekend, but it’s fleeting due to another tournament the following week. The Thunder could (and probably will) close out the Pacers and win the NBA Finals tonight. The Stanley Cup is already off ice.
Point being: there’s not that much to talk about, in terms of news, sparking outlets to get creative. And when someone decides to get creative in a wild way, it forces us to talk about it, too.
Gotta love the 2025 media cycle y’all.
With that preface being said, a little preview of what we’re going to talk about on today’s DLLS Cowboys show…
"If he doesn’t deliver this year, his time in Dallas is OVER… and Jerry might already be eyeing Arch Manning"
@CameronNewton says it's NFC Championship or bust for Dak 👀

Personally, I think Cam Newton’s show can be informative and entertaining. Truly. He had a take yesterday, however, that I didn’t agree with.
To put it succinctly, Newton said that the pressure is on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. That Prescott needs to lead the Cowboys to a NFC title game, or else he’ll force Jerry Jones to find a new quarterback. Cam also suggested Arch Manning has a potential target.
First off, Manning hasn’t thrown 100 passes at the collegiate level yet. We all think he’s going to be incredible, but we still need to actually see it before we not only declare that he’ll be in next year’s draft, but also highlight him as the apple of Jones’ eyes.
Secondly, Prescott just signed a massive extension that will keep him in Dallas at least until 2028, where a potential out exists. He also has a no trade clause, which means the new father of two doesn’t have to approve a trade to a new team. Like a mortgage, the Cowboys are expensively indebted him.
My final quick point, because we’ll discuss it on the show: this isn’t all on Prescott. Especially not this year. The Cowboys have talent, sure, but they also have questions in the secondary, on the defensive line, on the offensive line and in the backfield. The Cowboys acquired an elite secondary receiver in George Pickens, but if they can’t stop the run, then it might not matter if they average 30 points per game.
Prescott’s legacy, as ESPN talked about earlier this week, is always an inherent storyline with the Cowboys. Today, we’ll explore it more.

We’re now less than a week before Cooper Flagg joins the Mavs. The DLLS Mavs show yesterday, with some unique panelists, dove into the importance of Flagg.

What is your favorite condiment on a hot dog? Mayo is OK. y’all.

I joined the DLLS Stars show yesterday where I learned a TON about the Stars coaching search. Well, Sean Shapiro showed me there’s not much going on at the moment, weirdly enough. But there was one name he mentioned that sold me REALLY quick.
Hire David Carle, Jim Nill. Whatever it takes.

Watch out, deGrom. Your job may be in jeopardy.

Sad one today. Please keep this family in your prayers, and if you ever go golfing with thunderstorms on the horizon, be careful. This lightning strike came before the storm was supposed to hit in what police are calling a freak accident.
