Ryan Nembhard walked into Denver and hit the Nuggets with a “Who Am I?” game
The Dallas Mavericks walked into Denver as underdogs and walked out with one of their wildest wins of the season, a 131–121 shocker over Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets that nobody saw coming.
Anthony Davis looked every bit like a franchise anchor again with 32 points and 13 rebounds, Cooper Flagg poured in 24, and somehow, some way, the Mavericks now have their first winning streak of the season.
The DLLS Mavs crew was trying to unpack whatever alternate universe this team just stepped into.
But the headline of the night? A 6’0” undrafted rookie who didn’t hear his name on draft night. Ryan Nembhard, signed quietly to a two-way deal while all eyes were on Cooper Flagg, delivered a performance straight out of a Disney script: 28 points, 10 assists, zero turnovers, and total control of the game’s tempo.
He shot 12-of-14 like he had the cheat codes and outplayed Denver’s guards in every imaginable way. If this is real, Dallas may have found the steal of the year.
And for a team that entered the night with the league’s worst offensive rating, the Mavericks suddenly looked like an offensive buzzsaw, posting a 128.2 rating against the defending champs. It was fast, efficient, confident, three words that haven’t been associated with Dallas all season long.
Now, after finally stringing two wins together, the Mavericks head home to face the Miami Heat on Monday with something brand new: momentum.
