Stars’ Frustration Boils Over in Ugly Loss to Lightning
The Stars finally got a bounce early… and then watched it disappear in real time.
Dallas jumped in front on a greasy rebound goal, but the good vibes didn’t last long as Tampa Bay settled in, started living in the slot, and handed the Stars a brutal 4-1 loss at the AAC on Sunday.
10 losses in their last 12 games, one goal in three straight, and now the frustration isn’t just simmering, it’s spilling over.
This game felt like a perfect snapshot of what’s gone wrong: turnovers up ice, missed chances in tight, and the Lightning punishing every mistake with ruthless efficiency.
Nils Lundkvist’s shot created the opener, but the Stars gave up odd-man looks, failed to cash on their opportunities, and watched Tampa score two nasty rebound goals that made the building feel quieter by the minute. Even the power play couldn’t save them — again — and the “almost had it” moments piled up until Dallas ran out of answers.
And the scary part? The Stars know it. Glen Gulutzan didn’t dodge it postgame, admitting this stretch has gone on too long and saying the team has to find a new mindset fast because there’s “no break” coming.
Boston is next, the pressure is rising, and Dallas looks like a group searching for traction… while the rest of the league keeps moving forward.
Oh — and if you needed one more punch to the gut, Vegas is reportedly adding Rasmus Andersson. Because of course they are.

The Cowboys are officially down to the “in-person” phase of their DC hunt, bringing in Vikings DBs coach Daronte Jones (Saturday, Jan. 17) and former Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon for second-round interviews. And Dallas isn’t done yet, Eagles pass game coordinator Christian Parker is also set to make the trip as this search starts getting real serious.

Good for DLaw.
