Cowboys hoping to get two key starters back just in time for Thursday night

All-Pro corner Trevon Diggs and second-year left tackle Tyler Guyton chances of playing playing in the season opener have been the biggest headlines outside of Micah Parsons. Both players have missed significant time with knee injuries.

  • Head coach Brian Schottenheimer provided further updates on Tuesday on the status of both players

  • Diggs told reporters exactly how he felt on his chances of suiting up, after undergoing knee surgery in January.

  • Guyton has been sidelined since suffering a bone fracture in training camp. If he can’t go, second-year tackle Nate Thomas would step in at left tackle.

Cowboys rookie guard gets a major test in primetime

First-round pick Tyler Booker is set to make his NFL debut Thursday night against one of the league’s most dominant defensive lines.

  • Booker’s first test will come against star defensive tackle Jalen Carter, a matchup he says he’s “very excited” to take on.

  • Offensive coordinator Klayton Adams believes the challenge will accelerate Booker’s growth:

    • “We’ll look back in 10 or 11 weeks and go, ‘Wow, look how much he’s grown.’”

  • The former All-American shared what the keys to victory will be on Thursday night, including sticking to the Cowboys’ brand of football.
