Two is Better Than One

The Stars look to take a 2-0 lead against the Oilers tonight

👋 Good morning! I want to take a second to acknowledge the end of ESPN’s Around The Horn. This would often be the first show I watched when I came home from school. I wanted to be on the panel one day.

Today, over 22 years after it began, it comes to an end. What a run. What a great show. It will be missed.

The Stars are certainly not getting complacent after a Game 1 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Not in the slightest. As our Sam Nestler writes, for good reason.

Dallas needed three power-play goals to open the third period to overcome a fairly dominant Edmonton performance through 40 minutes. Take nothing away from the Stars, they dug deep, went 3-3 on the power play, and completely flipped that game on its head.

The team found a way, something they have done a lot of this season.

“We have a lot of belief in us. We never really think we’re fully out of a game,” Tyler Seguin said. “I think the message right now for all of us is it’s been pretty cool to be here [WCF] three years in a row, but you don’t get to be here four, five years in a row. You’ve got to find ways different nights. Whether it’s tonight being down 3-1 or next game being up 3-1 and finishing 5-1, you can’t just try to respond next game. I think that was the message [after two periods], we’ve got to respond right now.”

And they did.

If there’s one thing we know about the Oilers it’s their resilience — their ability to come back. That wasn’t on display in Game 1. Can the Stars keep it at bay and take a 2-0 series lead?

We shall find out tonight.

New show alert!

We had some big news this week … A NEW SHOW!

Our DLLS Wings show had its debut episode on Thursday.

It was a packed first show… Erika Day, Bobby Karalla and Kevin Gray were joined by Marc Stein and Dorothy Gentry to discuss the new era for the show and, obviously, for the Wings.

The bad news: Paige Bueckers and the Wings are off to an 0-3 start.

The good news: there are still some reasons for optimism.

The even better news: DLLS Wings is here to follow it all.
