👋 Good morning! - Here is your fun fact of the day. 🏀 Dennis Rodman once took a 48-hour vacation to Las Vegas… during the NBA Finals. The Bulls literally let him leave mid-series in 1998. He partied, wrestled with Hulk Hogan, then came back and played like nothing happened. - Ali Jawad

Here’s the word on Micah from The Star
We know this week has a different feel around Dallas. The Cowboys aren’t just preparing for another Sunday matchup, they’re gearing up to face a player they know better than anyone: Micah Parsons.
For years, Parsons was the heartbeat of the Cowboys’ defense. He was the guy every offensive coordinator circled on film and the teammates relied on to flip games in an instant.
Now, he’s wearing a green and yellow jersey, and Dallas has to figure out how to stop the same game-wrecker they once unleashed.
Here is what has been said so far.
Tight end Jake Ferguson has spent the last few years going head-to-head with Parsons in practice. He knows what’s coming.
“I’ve been doing it for four years. I kinda have a sense of how he plays. It’s going to be fun. I like to think that I know some of his tendencies, how he plays, what he likes to do. And just watching film of the defense and getting a better sense of how he plugs in with that defense.” – Jake Ferguson
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer knows the team is excited for the matchup and knows the challenge of scheming against Parsons better than most.
“They’re all excited to see Micah. I’m excited to see Micah. Micah is a great player. Micah is going to make plays. Is he gonna get a sack? I hope not.” – Brian Schottenheimer
Owner Jerry Jones on a tribute video to Parsons.
“I don’t think that’s appropriate this way. Emmitt [Smith] was a different story. But that’s not to diminish Micah. I think Micah’s got enough welcome out there. We just need to show we’ve got anecdotes for that.” – Jerry Jones
And when asked about the matchup, Schottenheimer doubled down on how seriously Dallas is taking this week.
“I think I know Micah pretty well. They move him around a lot, which is great. I’m not going to give away our game plan for Micah, but we’ll pay a lot of attention to Micah. They’ve got other really good players as well. Micah can be dominant. And we know that. We’re gonna hit him. We’re gonna put multiple people on him. It’s gonna be a long day for us and the guys trying to block him, because he’s that talented. But it’s not just about Micah.” – Brian Schottenheimer
Inside the locker room, there’s a mix of respect and caution. Teammates understand what Parsons brings: his relentless motor, his ability to line up anywhere, and the havoc he can cause in a single series.
The Cowboys aren’t giving away game-plan details, but their words make it clear they know this week is personal, for Parsons and for them.
The tone isn’t bitter, but it’s serious. They’re preparing for him the way they once leaned on him. It’s the reality of the NFL: one day you’re the franchise cornerstone, the next you’re the opponent trying to make your old team regret letting you go.
And in Dallas, they know better than anyone that Parsons has the talent to do exactly that.

The Dallas Stars have a new word of the day at training camp, and it already feels different from years past.
Under Glen Gulutzan, players say things look and feel less rigid, with more room to lean on their skill. What exactly does that mean for Dallas this season? The answer might surprise you.

Max Christie flashed real potential with the Mavericks after last year’s trade deadline, but his production dipped once Kyrie Irving went down. Now the question is whether he can bounce back and carve out a bigger role this season.
The DLLS Mavs crew dives into that, reacts to ESPN’s player rankings, and fields surprise Diehard questions.
